Trailer of The Hunt For Kohinoor

“Last, but not least, you need a happy ending. However, if you can create tragic situations and jerk a few tears before the happy ending, it will work much better.”

Is that so, Mr Ray?

Coming up tomorrow is the Trailer of The Hunt for Kohinoor, Book 2 of the Mehrunisa trilogy, in which the baritone of Tom Alter - Padma Shri awardee, theatre thespian, film actor - will transport you to the troubled triangle of Ind-Af-Pak, where history runs as deep as the mountains soar high, where the curse of Kohinoor says it can be trusted, but only with God or a woman ...

Check out the trailer on my Youtube channel tomorrow!
Meanwhile, go enjoy the existing videos!

Mehrunisa Khosa, the Desi Sherlock

I saved the best for the last, yessiree!

Mehrunisa is my heroine. I created her from a Persian mother and a Punjabi father, and gave her my love of Mughal history and Renaissance art. She is an embodiment of the syncretic Sufi faith, which melds several disparate elements into a glorious whole. She has the strength and beauty of marble - she is my Taj come alive.

She is also a thoroughly contemporary woman, brave, resourceful, independent. She relies on her deep knowledge of history and powers of deductive reasoning to solve the mysteries that keep sprouting in her path.

But the finest marble can hide a vein, and in The Hunt For Kohinoor, her second adventure, will Mehrunisa be able to overcome her faultline, locate the mysterious Kohinoor, save the nation and solve the mystery of her missing father?

Watch Mehrunisa Live on your screens, now!

Meanwhile, I have a question to ask: Have you book your copy of #TheHuntForKohinoor yet? What are you waiting for!

When a Writer is Requested to Commit Murder ...

Yes, it happened, with me. A few months after the release of The Taj Conspiracy, an eager reader wrote to me that he absolutely loved Mehrunisa, and since the book was the first in a trilogy, could I please kill off RP Singh in the next book since he was jealous of the dude who was angling to be Mehrunisa’s love interest?

Now what would a writer do without passion! But that request was declined, politely - which means you get to see the badass ant-Naxal tough cop on your screens, now!

In arid windswept north Afghanistan a stray sound could mean a snapped twig, a startled sheep or an assassin cocking his gun. Where, let’s admit, a man such as Rana Pratap Singh is handy :)

Meet RP Singh, from The Hunt for Kohinoor, Character #4

Meet Harry, from The Hunt for Kohinoor - Character Introduction #3

He is the legendary Snow Leopard, whom the mountains know as one of their own.

He has spent a lifetime tracking the enemy amongst some of the highest peaks in the world.

In his three-decade career, he has been in and out of AfPak over a hundred times, on foot, on horseback, through blizzard and barrage.

He has seen the Russians come and go, he is watching the Amreeki beat the same retreat, and he knows: the Great Game goes on ...

Steady your heart and get ready to encounter that rarest of rare creatures: a spook so stealthy he has become a part of the fauna of the Himalayas - Harry, aka Snow Leopard.

as we try to keep apace with Mehrunisa on a journey that will take her deep into the region the US has admitted has rung their death knell in their decade-old war on terror ...

Psst... Meanwhile, have you read Book 1 of the trilogy, The Taj Conspiracy, and busted some Taj myths?
